Our Tobaccos

Our cigars are made from high-quality, 100% Nicaraguan filler, whose tobaccos come from the best regions of the country: Condega, Estelí, Ometepe, and—of course—Jalapa. They are made with the finest leaves from these regions and, fundamentally, raised with great love, effort, and quality by the best hands and experience in the region. Nicaragua produces the finest cigars in the world, with different qualities in each region.

Estelí

Located in northern Nicaragua, Estelí is the heart of Nicaraguan tobacco. Its volcanic soils and dry climate create ideal conditions for full-bodied leaves, intense aromas, and deep flavors. Estelí cigars are typically medium to full-bodied, with profiles that combine earthy notes, spices (such as black pepper), and hints of cocoa or leather. The burn is even, and the construction is generally excellent, thanks to the expertise of the local cigar makers. Estelí is synonymous with character, power, and authenticity, ideal for those seeking an intense and well-defined experience.

Condega

The Condega Valley, also in Nicaragua, lies between Estelí and Jalapa, and its stony soils produce leaves with good texture and aroma. Cigars from this region tend to be medium-strength, with smoother, more rounded flavors than those from Estelí, but with more character than those from Jalapa. Notes of nuts, wood, and a sweet undertone are found, sometimes with floral hints. These are well-balanced cigars, ideal for those seeking complexity without excessive strength. Furthermore, many excellent value cigars come from this area.

Ometepe

Cigars using Ometepe tobacco tend to be mild to medium, with a distinctive sweet and earthy profile. Because the tobacco grows in volcanic soils, it has a unique minerality that permeates the palate, with notes of cocoa, soft spices, and sometimes a hint of fruit. These cigars aren't powerful or aggressive; they're meant to be enjoyed slowly, appreciating the nuances. Many master blenders use Ometepe tobacco in the filler to give the blend complexity and roundness. They're ideal for those seeking a distinct, elegant, and relaxing smoke.

Jalapa

Elegance, sweetness, and natural complexity: The Jalapa Valley in northern Nicaragua produces what many consider the finest tobacco in the world. Its fertile soil and wetter climate than Estelí's result in silky, aromatic leaves with smooth yet complex flavors. Jalapa cigars are typically medium or medium-smooth, with sweet (honey, caramel, cinnamon), floral, earthy, and sometimes creamy flavors. The Jalapa wrapper is famously beautiful: oily, fine, and evenly colored. Smoking a well-made Jalapa cigar is a subtle, elegant, and enveloping experience. It doesn't hit hard; it seduces.
