About Us
What defines us is our "Love for the Cigar," or rather, our love for nature. We are the fusion of Nicaragua and Argentina, more specifically the Andes mountain range, where its vineyards, bathed by the waters of the Andean snows, look northward, in love with the world's finest tobacco: Nicaragua.
History
We are three great friends united by a passion for cigars, which we consider an art form created by a great artist, the master blender. From this friendship, between Donaldo Gonzalez, owner of the tobacco company that produces the best blends in the country (Nicaragua), Diego Blasco Funes, a 63-year-old novice who has been smoking for 52 years, and Gerardo Cartellone, a great Argentine businessman and owner of the A16 winery, in March 2025, Gerardo and Diego decided to launch a brand that reflects the best spirit of the Nicaraguan cigar. Donaldo himself generously offered them the best creation in his own history. In love from the first puff, they decided to embark on this wonderful adventure with the name A16BC. These acronyms and numbers reflect the name that unites those two wonderful natural regions: Jalapa and Mendoza. Likewise, A represents the opening to the world, and the 16 represents the four regions of Nicaraguan tobacco, thanks to the four quarters that the smoker identifies along the cigar, unlike most cigars with three thirds. B and C are the initials of its founders: Blasco and Cartellone.
Gerardo Cartellone
He is a renowned Argentine businessman and a great lover of nature. That's why his two most beloved ventures are linked to the land: wine and tobacco. He has already produced one of the best Malbecs in the world, and from the very land of that wine: Perdriel. Now he's launching one of the best cigars we've ever tasted: the A16BC, from Jalapa but with all tobaccos from Nicaragua.
Diego Blasco
He is a consultant for family businesses and sits on the boards of prestigious companies. A cigar lover, he has 52 years of experience admiring the art of premium cigars. He has his IG site, puros.para.novatos, where he expresses his love of cigars daily. His friendship with Donaldo Gonzalez led him, along with his friend Gerardo Cartellone, to become enthusiastic about the launch of this great cigar. He considers Nicaragua the best cigar-producing land in the world.
